Wouldn't it be nice if God gave
you a map?
That way you'd have complete clarity about what He wants you doing with your life...
And you'd be prepared for whatever comes your way.
But God doesn't give us a map.
He doesn't lay out the whole picture of what lies ahead.
And for good reason.
If we saw everything God had in mind for us, some of it would probably scare us... keeping us from moving forward.
Or... if it didn't scare us, we'd just grab the map and move ahead without Him... depending on our own resources.
So, God is wise to not give us a
map.
But He does provide what we need to fulfill our role in the Dominion Mandate.
He gives us a trustworthy guide in the person of Jesus.
As our guide, Jesus will take us on the adventure of a lifetime.
He will take us off the path that seems right to
us.
And in so doing... He will show us things and give us experiences that would not be possible if all we had was a map.
And through all of this He will see to it that the purpose He's designed for us will be realized in our lives.
But first...
We have to
trust.
We have to commit and mature.
Our natural desire is to want to see the plan God has for us, and then commit.
But He says "Follow Me," and then the plan unfolds.
So...
"Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will
be established" (Pr.16:3).
