How to Keep Your Vision (460 Year Old Advice Still Stands)

Published: Tue, 01/31/17

Ever have a clear vision of what God would have you do...

... Only to have it evaporate like the morning fog?

I sure have.

So how do you proceed?

I came across some good advice on this from the 16th century reformer John Calvin.

In summary, his guidance was:

First, to see God and His vision for the world, keep a pure heart.

(Which is based on Matthew 5:8.)

But also, remember that in this life you'll face deep valleys as well as views from the mountain, so you must live more by faith than by sight.

(Which is based on 2 Corinthians 5:7.)

So... since our vision so easily gets fuzzy...

Keep your heart focused on the Lord...

And keep moving forward by faith... according to what He has shown you already.

As you do, He will eventually part the clouds and give light to show you the next step in due time.
