I live in lightning alley.
At least that's what they call it... because of all the lightning strikes that happen here.
Lightning can be scary.
But I find it fascinating.
Did you know half of all the usable nitrogen in soil comes from the energy of
lightning?
Now... when I watch an electrical storm, I don't normally think about nitrogen.
I think about the way the lightning expresses God's power and glory.
And last night... while watching some lightning... it occurred to me...
God sure isn't shy about expressing
himself.
Not just with lightning... but with clouds and wind and thunder and fire and ice and mountains and seas... and so much more in His creation.
And all this got me wondering...
If God is so expressive of who He is, why are we so shy to express who He made us to be?
One of
the biggest fears people have when it comes to following their calling is that they're afraid of self-expression.
They're fearful of how they might look.
Or what others might think of them.
But don't put your light under a basket.
Those around you will go unhelped by what you can
contribute...
And you'll regret falling short of your purpose...
The same God who expresses Himself without reservation, calls you to manifest the gifts He's given you without fear.
