Praying for a New President

Published: Fri, 01/20/17

Well, it's official.

Donald J. Trump is now President of the United States.

Scripture exhorts us to pray for those in authority.

So how shall we pray for America's new leader?

Paul's words to Timothy guide us when he says we are to pray for:

"kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity" (1 Tim.2:2).

This is so our leaders would use their power to assure an environment where we are free to fulfill our God-given callings... and apply His grace and truth to all of life... resulting in the advance of His kingdom.

May God give President Trump and his administration the wisdom and resolve needed for truth and righteousness to be upheld, and liberty and prosperity to flourish.

And may we use our gifts in such a way that the Father's kingdom would come, and His will would be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
