When 100-Year-Olds are Common

Published: Tue, 01/17/17

There are now more 100-year-olds alive than ever.

That doesn't mean reaching the century mark isn't special anymore.

It is.

But... did you know the day is coming when reaching 100 years old will be an ordinary occurrence?

That's right.

The Bible foresees a day -- prior to Christ's return and the final judgement -- when longevity will be greatly increased.

In fact, Scripture tells us that living to a ripe old age will be so common that one who doesn't reach the age of one hundred will be thought accursed (Is. 65:20).

Now... it might take a long, long time time before centenarians can be found everywhere...

Probably many generations.

But it's good to remember that time will come.

Because it reminds us of the transforming power of redemption...

And...

The reality that a period of tremendous future blessing lies ahead should encourage us...

... Encourage us to be faithful in the place God has called us to serve His kingdom today.
