Psalm One describes the righteous, productive man as a tree planted by streams of water.
For a long time I envisioned this as a lone, solitary tree in the desert somewhere that just happened to be growing near a river.
But after looking into this passage further, I discovered something...
How I envisioned it was wrong...
A far more accurate picture would be one of a tree -- or trees
-- purposefully planted by irrigation canals...
This was commonly done in ancient civilizations so trees would thrive...
And it got me thinking about how import it is to be intentional...
God, of course, has been intentional with us... by graciously planting us in His vineyard... and calling us to serve as co-laborers with Him.
But as His image-bearers we are to be intentional as well... as we seek to be fruitful
in our callings.
Fulfilling your purpose and taking dominion doesn't happen by accident...
You have to be deliberate about it...
And it requires lots of prayer and planning and effort and persistence.
And it most definitely involves meditating on His Word and applying it to your situation.
So... if you want to fulfill the purpose God has for you, be intentional... go after it.
Get Dominion,
