Today marks the birthdate of beloved Christian author C.S. Lewis.
Lewis is best known for his Chronicles of Narnia series... as well as the popular works Mere Christianity and The Screwtape Letters... among many others.
As a great writer, the words of Lewis live on...
His books are still
top sellers... and he is often quoted... even though he died over 50 years ago.
One of my favorite quotes is this one:
The more we let God take us over, the more truly ourselves we become--because He made us. He invented us. He invented all the different people that you and I were intended to be... It is when I turn to Christ, when I give up myself to His personality, that I first
begin to have a real personality of my own.
With so many people trying to be someone their not, there can hardly be more timely insight for our generation.
Finding ourselves doesn't come by putting up a false image... or trying to live by the expectations of others...
No... we only become who we are truly meant to be when we
totally surrender ourselves to the Lord.
And it's also only then that we discover what God has put us here to do... so we can fulfill our role in accomplishing the work of the Dominion Mandate.
Life is too short to try and figure out who you are and what God intends for you to accomplish by trial and error.
Skip that... and
become who you are designed to be by turning to the One who invented you.
