It's yours for the taking...

Have you ever noticed Jesus regularly told his followers to “take courage”?

When the sick approached Him for healing, He said, “Take courage” (Mt.9:2,22)

When his disciples feared as their Master walked on the water, He said, “Take courage” (Mk.6:50).

When Jesus told the disciples He was leaving the world, He again said, “Take courage” (Jn.16:33).

And when Paul was preparing to go to Rome, the Lord said, “Take courage” (Acts 23:11).

Notice... Jesus did not tell His followers to pray for courage... or that He would give them courage.

He told them: take courage.

And He did so on the basis of His promise to be with them.

The same thing holds true for His disciples today... as Jesus promises to be with us to the end of the age (Mt.28:20).

Remember that as you play your part in God's story.

There's no need for fear to keep you from what you know He has put in front of you to do.

Courage is available for you.

You just need to take it.

"Sad is the day for any man when he becomes absolutely satisfied with the life he is living, the thoughts that he is thinking and the deeds that he is doing; when there ceases to be forever beating at the doors of his soul a desire to do something larger which he seeks and knows he was meant and intended to do." ~Phillips Brooks
