I've been doing a fair amount of cooking lately...
Been doing so for the past year... and I've been enjoying it.
When I first got going my creations weren't all that great... and I mainly ate them all by myself.
But now I cook for others and they are quite pleased.
Last night I made seared ahi tuna with asparagus.
And I must say... it turned out so well I'd be confident serving it to guests.
Looking back over the last year I'm glad I've kept cooking.
It wasn't so hot in the beginning...
Lot's of what I made was overcooked... dried out... lacking flavor.
But now I can cook.
And it's got me thinking...
There may be something God has you doing that you aren't too good at.
Well go easy on yourself, okay?
As G.K. Chesterton put it, “Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.”
If you stick with it, you'll get better.
It's little by little lasting progress is made.
So don't despise the day of small beginnings.
The time will come when you'll look back with
a sense of accomplishment.
If you stick with it.

"Sad is the day for any man when he becomes absolutely satisfied with the life he is living, the thoughts that he is thinking and the deeds that he is doing; when there ceases to be forever beating at the doors of his soul a desire to do something larger which he seeks and knows he was meant and intended to do." ~Phillips
